Tragedy struck the peaceful neighborhood of Magnolia on Wednesday evening as Homicide detectives from the Seattle Police Department initiated an investigation into the death of a child. Reports of a shooting in the area prompted law enforcement’s response to the 3000 block of 21st Avenue West at approximately 6:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers encountered an adult woman who relayed the distressing news that her child had been shot. Despite the swift arrival of the Seattle Fire Department, it was determined that the infant had tragically succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
In the immediate aftermath, law enforcement secured the area while awaiting the arrival of the Homicide Unit and the Crime Scene Investigation Unit.
