Born and raised in Joy, Illinois, Blake had a deep love for his hometown and the rural surroundings that shaped his life.
As a graduate of Aledo High School, Blake’s academic excellence and involvement in extracurricular activities were emblematic of his passion for learning and community engagement. He particularly excelled in sports, displaying his talent and dedication as a member of the school football team. After high school, Blake pursued his academic interests further, graduating from Western Illinois University with a degree in Agricultural Science. His commitment to agriculture and the land was a testament to his roots and his desire to contribute to his family farm and community.
Beyond his academic and professional pursuits, Blake’s love for the outdoors was evident in his hobbies and leisure activities. He found solace and joy in fishing, hunting, and spending quality time with friends and family around the campfire. Blake’s appreciation for nature mirrored his genuine and down-to-earth personality, endearing him to all who knew him.
Blake is survived by his loving parents, Eric and Jenny Russell, who provided unwavering support and guidance throughout his life’s journey. He also leaves behind his beloved brother, Tyson, with whom he shared countless adventures and cherished memories. Funeral services to honor and celebrate Blake’s life will be held at Speer Funeral Home in Aledo on Friday, May 31, 2024, at 10:00 AM. Friends and loved ones are invited to attend the visitation on Thursday, May 30, 2024, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. A private burial will follow at New Boston Cemetery, where Blake will be laid to rest surrounded by close family members.
The Russell family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support they have received during this difficult time.
