Following a gunshot on the northeastern side of the town early on Wednesday morning, two individuals are dead in Normal. Officers arrived at Red Jasper Street at roughly 2:30 a.m. in response to a complaint of a person shot, according to a press statement from the Normal Police Department. There, inside a house, they discovered two persons who seemed to have been shot.
Life-saving procedures were initiated on the site by police and the Normal Fire Department, and one person was transported to a nearby hospital. Subsequently, “both victims succumbed to their injuries.” The Normal Police Department and the McLean County Coroner’s Office are investigating the event. We are not disclosing the victims’ identities until their relatives are notified. According to police, the event seems isolated with no immediate safety concern.
