Chris Davis Sr. was not only a dedicated coach but also a cherished mentor and father. He was deeply involved in the basketball community, with a remarkable career that included playing for the UW-Whitewater men’s basketball team, which won the NCAA Division III national championship in 2012. During his time at UW-Whitewater, he averaged 22.2 points and 7.9 rebounds per game, earning the WIAC Player of the Year accolade.

His son, Chris Davis Jr., who recently won the Wisconsin State Journal/WiscNews boys basketball Player of the Year award, expressed his profound grief on Instagram: “Everyone in the world is aware that if you see me, you’re also seeing my pops too. Man, Big Dawg, I don’t even know if I could stay here long without you. I can’t do this without you, Dad. Please give me one more basketball game, one more talk, one more everything. I’m hurt.
