Susan was known for her nurturing nature, always ensuring that there were chocolate chip cookies ready to share. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, she created a home filled with love and laughter. Her joy was evident in the time she spent with her family, particularly with her grandchildren: Anistyn, Garrett, Kinsley, Coral, Cove, and Cali, who were the light of her life.
An active member of the PEO Sisterhood for nearly 50 years, Susan was dedicated to promoting education and supporting women in her community. Her passion extended beyond PEO; she was an avid gardener, a baker extraordinaire, and a member of the “bowling girls,” where she cherished the camaraderie and friendships formed over shared strikes and spares.
Weekends often found Susan and her husband, Richard “Rick” Lynn Gaskill, at their beloved lake cabin or cheering enthusiastically for the Wildcats, where their spirit and love for each other shone brightly. Within the walls of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, Susan’s impact was significant. She taught Sunday school, served as a vestry member, and was instrumental in establishing the annual Ice Cream Social, an event that united the church and community in fellowship and fun. Her radiant personality and genuine kindness made everyone feel seen and valued, a testament to her nurturing spirit.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Elna Moore. She is survived by her loving husband, Rick, and their children: Trevor (Shelly) Gaskill of Manhattan, KS; Brianna Gaskill of Wichita; and Jarred (Emily) Gaskill of Derby. She also leaves behind her brother, James (Jenni) Moore of Westmoreland, KS, and her cherished nephews, Benjamin Moore of Golden, CO, and Brian Moore of Westmoreland. As the community comes together to celebrate Susan’s life, her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her kindness, joy for life, and unwavering love will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
