The victim of the deadly collision in Gallitzin Township on Thursday morning has been identified by Jeff Lees, the coroner for Cambria County.
According to officials, David Swinger, 18, of Lilly, was killed when his vehicle and a school bus crashed near Chestnut Street and Route 53.
According to Lees, Swinger’s autopsy revealed that he was not wearing a seatbelt and that his severe chest injuries caused his sudden death.
Swinger, according to investigators, graduated in 2024 from Penn Cambria School District. The bus driver was not hurt in the collision, according to authorities, and there were no pupils on board.
According to emergency personnel, Swinger’s car’s passenger was hospitalized for unspecified injuries.
