The deceased victim of Wednesday night’s fatal fire in Pittston Township has been identified by the coroner.
Inhaling harmful combustion products was the cause of death for 52-year-old Ryan Bergstresser, according to Lackawanna County Coroner Timothy Rowland.
The mobile home on Decker Lane in Pittston Township caught fire at approximately 6:00 p.m.
Bergstresser was hurt when his mobile home caught fire and he was unable to escape, according to Coroner Rowland. Bergstresser was taken out by firefighters, who attempted CPR on him, but he passed away in the hospital.
Pittston Township is a township in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. The population was 3,179 as of the 2020 census. The township is located within the Greater Pittston region. As of 2010, the total population of Greater Pittston was 48,020. The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport is located in Pittston Township.
