Roger Dance was a much-loved member of the P&SA who, for many years, was a big contributor to the unit’s support through his dedication to our fundraising events.
The news of his departure has left us in utter disbelief and utter devastation. The dedication and unflinching support that Roger provided for the team were not only tremendously appreciated, but his contributions also played a significant role in the accomplishment of our goals in a variety of different ways.
Roger was diagnosed with dementia a number of years ago, but his enthusiasm for assisting the unit remained unwavering throughout his illness. His unwavering commitment to the cause and his unwavering affection for it were both demonstrated by the fact that he remained a member of the team for as long as it was reasonable to do so.
His presence lifted the emotions of everyone around him, and despite the fact that he was going through difficult times in his personal life, Roger continued to be a source of positivity and strength.
All of the members of the P&SA team adored Roger, not just because of his unwavering commitment, but also because of his hilarious sense of humour and the numerous funny moments he shared with us along the journey.
His contagious smile and kind demeanour brought joy to our fundraising events, and he left an unforgettable impact on the team because of his presence.
In addition to being a member, he was a friend, a treasured colleague, and an indispensable component of our community. He was more than just a member.
While we are remembering Roger, we want his family to know that they are in our thoughts and prayers during this extremely trying time. His memory will continue to motivate us as we move on, and his legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him. Rogers, may you rest in peace. You are going to be greatly missed, but the P&SA crew will carry your spirit with them for the rest of their lives.
