Our hearts are heavy with sorrow as we announce the passing of Anthea Pender-Mynott, a beloved friend of the Legation, pictured here in the center wearing her signature embroidered dress. Alongside her husband, Lawrence, Anthea was a dear companion to the Legation for decades, leaving an indelible mark on its history and culture.
Partners in both life and design, Anthea and Lawrence created countless programs, posters, designs, and illustrations that perfectly captured the spirit and charm of the Legation a unique and wonderful institution that reflected Anthea’s own vibrant personality. Her creativity and energy added a special sparkle to everything she touched, making Tangier all the more interesting for her presence.
”Very sad news. Anthea was a lovely person and, along with Lawrence, the Mynott’s home a special Tangier place…Gerald Loftus wrote
Anthea’s absence will leave a void that can never be filled, but her memory will live on in the beauty and creativity she shared with the world. Tangier will forever be a little less bright without her, but her legacy will continue to inspire and captivate us.
