Janie Grace Moss, a cross country runner from Goodpasture Christian School, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, morning as a result of difficulties that arose when she fell while she was out running. Her passing was verified to The Tennessean by athletic director Jim Carter, who also confirmed it on social media. Goodpasture made the announcement on social media.
Moss reportedly passed out as she was running at Wright Park on Sunday, as stated in a GoFundMe page that was established for her. She was transported by helicopter to Centennial Hospital, where she was diagnosed with cerebral edema, also known as swelling of the brain, and placed on life support, as stated on the page for the fundraising effort.
Both the cheerleading and swimming teams at Goodpasture included Moss, who was a senior at the time. The W.F. Ruhl Arts Centre in Goodpasture was the location of a prayer vigil that was conducted for her on Monday.At the time of Moss’s passing, the reason for his passing was unknown.
