Brendan McCann “Bee-Bop” of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, who was nicknamed Bee-Bop has sadly died. A GoFundMe page has been created by Mike Morell, the fundraiser is to benefit The GOD’S CHILD Project.
Brendan was the kind of person that made you feel as though you had known him for your entire life, even though you had only just met him five minutes earlier. Always one to crack a joke and break the ice, he possessed an incredible warmth and excitement that emanated from his million dollar smile and infectious belly laughter. He was the type of person who could keep the conversation going. Brendan was the person with whom you looked forward to spending time the most, and he was the person with whom you found it easiest to strike up a friendship. Simply put, he made things easier in the most uncomplicated way possible.
Brendan was many things to many people, but generosity is one attribute that everyone who has ever had the opportunity to interact with him would agree upon. Through his time, his presence, his smile, and his heart, he was generous with all of these things. During Brendan’s two service trips to Guatemala in 2023 and 2024 with The GOD’S CHILD Project (www.GodsChild.org), which you could tell meant the world to him, this was never more clear than it was during those trips. This new experience was a fantastic fit for him because he developed new homes for families who were living in extreme poverty and nursed malnourished infants back to health. He was always the kind of person who was willing to help others. In a seamless manner, he established friendships with his teammates that would last a lifetime, and he made an everlasting impression on a town that was blessed by his gifts, kindness, and abilities.
Wherever Brendan went, he had the instinctive ability to connect with people and bring them together. He was extremely gifted in this regard. Brendan’s friendships were so extensive that he made friends in every room he entered, and he left each area a little brighter and a little lighter when he left. He cast a wide net with his friendships.
He loved his mother Patsy more than anything else in the world, and he showed the same level of affection to his nieces and nephews as they did to him. Whenever there were children in the vicinity, he was the first one to engage in play with them, and he never failed to make them laugh until their cheeks hurt.
