We mourn the loss of Ed Laase, a devoted listener of the @LockedOnRockets podcast and a die-hard fan of the Houston Rockets. It is with a heavy heart that we reflect on his passing. Ed’s generosity and support for everyone around him, particularly for the Rockets’ community and its supporters, was the only thing that could compare to the enthusiasm that he had for the Rockets.
Since the moment I took over hosting @LockedOnRockets, Ed has reached out to me with words of support that have truly struck a chord with me. His message was more than just a compliment; it was a reminder of the profound connection that fans like him share with the club and the larger community when they express their support for the squad. In addition to having a deep understanding of the challenges and achievements that come with being a Rockets fan, Ed exemplified the attitude of loyalty and enthusiasm that is characteristic of this team.
In each and every interaction, Ed’s enthusiasm for the game was readily apparent. Not only did he keep a careful eye on the Rockets, but he also joined in conversations with other fans, which helped to cultivate a sense of community that went beyond the confines of the court. We have become a more inviting area for all of our fans as a result of his intelligent comments and meaningful discussions, which have enriched our community.
While we are saddened by Ed Laase’s passing, let us take this opportunity to honour the influence he had on each of our lives and on the Rockets community. His unflinching support and genuine generosity will be dearly missed, but his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him and in every game that we watch.
As Ed would have desired, let us continue to show our support for one another and share our passion for the Rockets. This is what we should do in his honour. Cheers to Ed, a nice person who is also a true admirer of the Rockets franchise. The memories, the laughs, and the encouragement are all things that I am grateful for. You are sure to be remembered forever.
