Katie Sonnenberg of Kitchener, Ontario, has sadly died. She died owing to a Postpartum reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome surgery that conducted after child birth. She was the wife of Tyler Sonnenberg, who always had her back every step of the way. Katie passed away on Wednesday, October 16th, little over a week after the delivery of her darling second child. Tragically, despite the best efforts of the neurology team, the operation that was conducted was not able to save her life. There is a widespread consensus among medical professionals that Katie’s untimely death was brought on by postpartum cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome.
At the beginning of the month of October, on Tuesday, Katie and Tyler Sonnenberg became parents to a stunning little girl who they named Georgia Katherine. Their family of four now includes Georgia, who is the new baby sister to her older brother Henry and their cherished dog Hunter. Georgia is the fourth member of their family.
A GoFundMe campaign is being conducted by Meagan Needles.
Unfortunately, the happy feelings were short-lived since, three days later, on Friday, October 11th, Katie was brought to the hospital with what turned out to be a brain bleed and related edema. This occurred after she had been experiencing some severe headaches. The decision was taken to fly her to Hamilton General Hospital, where she underwent emergency brain surgery in an effort to keep this lovely girl precisely where she was supposed to be. This decision was reached after some preliminary scans were performed.
There is going to be a time when Tyler, Henry, and Georgia will have to learn how to navigate this world without their cherished mother and wife. To ensure that Tyler is able to give his whole attention to Katie’s first goal, which is to love her two children, we want to offer as much assistance as we possibly can.
Throughout the course of her amazing but brief life, Katie has been there for a great number of us on multiple occasions, acting as a friend, a cheerleader, a coworker, and a caretaker when we were in need. Since Katie’s family is in need of our assistance at this time, we all want to be there for her in any way that we can.
Tyler will be able to provide Henry and Georgia with the necessary medical attention with the assistance of financial support that will be allocated to night nurses, childcare, formula, transportation, and other essential needs. In addition to the most essential expenses, any gifts that are received will be put toward Henry and Georgia’s future savings for their education.
Please keep her family in your loving thoughts and prayers as they go through this painful phase of their lives. Her funeral plans and obituary will be announced by her family at a later date that is most convenient for them.
