A devastating accident occurred in Butler County, Ohio, early Thursday morning, resulting in the death of a young driver and critical injuries to two others.
According to reports from the Butler County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the 6700 block of W. Elkton Road around 6:30 a.m. after receiving reports of a head-on collision with serious injuries.
Authorities believe that the driver of a 2005 Pontiac, identified only as a 16-year-old male, veered left of center and collided head-on with a 2013 Chevrolet. Tragically, the young driver of the Pontiac was pronounced dead at the scene.
A juvenile passenger in the Pontiac was severely injured and was airlifted to Dayton Children’s Hospital by CareFlight. The driver of the Chevrolet also suffered serious, life-threatening injuries and was flown to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment.
Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones expressed his sympathy for the victims and their families, stating, “Our thoughts are with the victims and their families” during this incredibly difficult time.
