A wheelchair-bound victim was struck and murdered by a vehicle, according to the Philadelphia Police Department, which left her for dead. The police are looking for explanations after the incident, which occurred in Fairmount Park.
At approximately two in the morning on Tuesday, the woman, who was later determined to be Sharell Holliday by the police, was discovered on the 2200 block of Reservoir Drive.
As a result of being flung by a vehicle that was attempting to leave, she sustained fatal injuries to both her head and her body. According to the police, the woman was seated on a wheelchair, which was discovered nearby disassembled into parts. At this moment, the police have not been able to provide a description of the car that struck the victim; however, they have stated that they are currently searching through surveillance cameras in the vicinity for evidence.
The Philadelphia Police Department reports that prior to the outbreak, there were a total of 629 hit-and-run accidents dating back to 2016, with 17 of those accidents resulting in fatalities.
