Michael Gibb Death: In a tragic event that occurred while Michael Gibb was in South Africa visiting his family, he passed away. Michael Gibb was the founder of the Weald Foundation and a Trustee of the organization. That the Trustees of the Weald Foundation have made this information available to the general public is something that they have done with a great degree of sadness. While they are going through this trying time, we would like to extend our most sincere condolences to his wife, Sarah, as well as to his daughters and the rest of their family in South Africa.
We are sorry for the difficulties that they are experiencing. The Foundation has garnered a reputation for being a centre of excellence in restoration, which has contributed to the establishment of this reputation the Foundation has established. For the benefit of future generations, it is the spot where vintage autos that have been restored are painstakingly brought back to their former condition and preserved. This project will continue to be worked on by the Trustees and the team as a means of paying honour to Michael’s vision and devotion to historic truth, as well as as a means of leaving behind a legacy that will last for all of eternity.
Our Autumn Members’ Day, which was scheduled to take place on November 23, 2024, has been postponed in order to pay tribute to Michael and to show respect for Michael’s family at this difficult time. At one point in time, the event was scheduled to take place. As soon as it is feasible to do so, a new date in the year 2025 will be announced to persons who are members of the organization as it is possible to do so.
