The name of the person who passed away as a result of a head-on collision that occurred on Monday afternoon has been made public by the Greenville County Coroner’s Office.
Troopers said that the collision took place on Locust Hill Road close to Dean Williams Road at approximately 1:20 p.m. on Monday. This location is approximately 2 miles north of Travellers Rest.When the two vehicles collided head-on near the intersection of Dean Williams Road, a 2014 Ford Escape was travelling west on Locust Hill Road and a 2011 Honda CRZ was travelling east on Locust Hill Road, according to the troopers who responded to the scene.
The driver of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, according to the troopers, while the driver and passenger of the Ford were transported to the hospital with injuries.
Richard L. Sprague, 47 years old, was identified as the victim by the Greenville County Coroner’s Office. Sprague originated from Easley.
