Michael Silver Death: It was reported in the notification that was distributed by the Pittsfield Police Department that Officer Michael Silver, who was a member of the Pittsfield Police Department, had passed away in an unexpected manner. Officer Silver started working for the department in 2008, the same year that he received his diploma from the State Police Municipal Academy and the year that he graduated from the academy. The year 2016 marked the beginning of his service with the Berkshire County Special Response Team, where he is currently serving as the Senior Tactical Operator. It was during the time that he was a member of the squad that he was assigned to the Traffic Unit of the department.
Because of his unwavering commitment to the tasks that are required of him in his role as a law enforcement officer, Officer Silver has garnered a great deal of respect from his fellow officers. He had received many letters of praise, he was a recipient of the Weapons Seizure Award, and he was also a recipient of the Drug Buster Award. He was a certified MPTC Instructor in a variety of areas, and he had received these awards. A brief period of time in 2015, he worked for the Lee Police Department. His employment there lasted for a short period of time.
In the wake of Officer Silver’s passing, the personnel of the Pittsfield Police Department would like to express their most heartfelt sympathies to his family, friends, and anyone else who had the opportunity to know him professionally or personally.
