Stiver, Flibusta online library founder has allegedly died by assisted suicide. There is a high probability that Stiver, the person responsible for creating the pirate library Flibusta, has committed euthanasia. In the past, he had disclosed that he had been diagnosed with glioblastoma and that the location would be shut down; yet, the library continued to function normally.
On the website of the library, a note was posted stating that the founder of Flibusta, who was known as Stiver, most likely committed euthanasia.
It was announced in September that Stiver, whose true identity is unknown, had been diagnosed with glioblastoma. Additionally, he disclosed that the website will be shutting down immediately. After some time had passed, it was revealed that the library would carry on with its functions.
“Flibusta is a free, non-commercial online pirate library that was established in 2009 and offered users the ability to read and download books without having to pay for them. During the time that the Librusek library implemented limits on the open access to books, it became apparent. A user from Germany by the name of Stiver is said to be the one who created and owns the library, as indicated by available data. To the best of our knowledge, the website has more than one terabyte worth of books, the most of which are written in Russian.
