The soccer world is mourning the tragic loss of Holden Trent, the Philadelphia Union goalkeeper who passed away on Saturday at the age of 25.

A talented goalkeeper with a promising future, Trent was selected 28th overall in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft after an impressive college career.
Originally from Greensboro, North Carolina, Trent played for West Virginia before transferring to High Point University, where he shone as a senior captain and led his team to its first NCAA Tournament win.
Despite not appearing in a competitive game for the Union, he made the bench eight times this year, showing perseverance despite a hand injury that limited him for three months in the spring
