Two people were killed in a crash in Warren County Thursday morning, including a well-liked community member, and an investigation is currently underway.
In a recent press statement, the district attorney said that the two-vehicle collision was related to “felony criminal conduct.” On I-70, a guy who was identified in an initial report as 24-year-old Brandon T. James crossed into Phyllis R. Prater’s lane, which was traveling in the opposite way, and collided with her Suburban SUV. They were both killed by their wounds.
The deceased suspect, James, was allegedly involved in a number of violent felony cases in Warren and Rutherford Counties.
Due to the continuing investigation, no additional information about this fatal accident is being made public at this time.
In a recent press release, District Attorney Chris Stanford said the community would remember Prater, 61, with fondness.
This crash is being investigated by the 31st District Attorney’s office, the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI).
