The Phoenixville Police Department announced on Monday that one of its officers was killed in an automobile accident in Warminster Township, Bucks County, on Sunday night.
According to Phoenixville Mayor Urscheler, the collision occurred close to the Dunkin’ Donuts at Street Road and St. David’s.
The officer was identified by the department as Arthur Scena IV, who joined the force in 2019 and previously served as a Chester City Police Department officer, a correctional officer for Montgomery County Prison, and a police officer for the Philadelphia Housing Authority.

It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that the Phoenixville Police Department must announce that we lost one of our own last night. Officer Arthur Scena IV was tragically killed in a vehicular crash in Warminster Township, Bucks County.
Officer Scena was born in Abington and was raised in Elkins Park, PA. He graduated from Cheltenham High School, Montgomery County Community College, and attended the Montgomery County Police Academy in 2010.
Prior to joining the Phoenixville Police Department in 2019, Officer Scena was employed as a correctional officer for the Montgomery County Prison and he worked as a police officer for the Philadelphia Housing Authority and the Chester City Police Department.
Officer Scena leaves behind a wife (Amanda), step-daughter (Riley), and daughter (Reece). Please keep his family, friends, and PPD colleagues in your thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time.

Art’s life was a testament to his unwavering commitment to his family and his community. He served as a Patrolman for Philadelphia Housing, Chester Police Department, and more recently, the residents of Phoenixville.
His dedication extended beyond his professional life, as he was also a passionate member of the Bullet’s Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club, often coordinating memorial rides and benefits for those we lost in the law enforcement family.
