A tragic fire in Steens, Mississippi, claimed the life of 59-year-old Kimberly Kohler, as confirmed by Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant. The incident occurred on Saturday, November 2nd, at a mobile home located on Hayden Lane.
According to the coroner, Kohler’s son reported that she was alone at home when he left earlier that day. Upon his return, he discovered the trailer engulfed in flames. Emergency responders from the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office and the Fire Departments from districts 1 and 3 rushed to the scene.
The fire involved a single-story camper, and while the cause remains undetermined, authorities are treating the incident as a death investigation due to suspicious circumstances.
