In a tragic incident on Saturday night, two lives were lost in a violent collision between two vehicles at the intersection of Rojas Drive and Eastlake Boulevard in El Paso County, Texas.
The fatal crash, which involved suspected intoxicated driving, has left the community in shock and grief as authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding the deadly accident. The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the crash, reported at approximately 11:37 p.m., involved two vehicles carrying multiple occupants.
Upon arriving at the scene, deputies from the East Montana Patrol Division discovered that 29-year-old Rick Ballard was already deceased due to injuries sustained in the crash. Another victim, identified as 28-year-old Dalia Olivas, was critically injured and transported immediately to a nearby hospital.
Despite efforts from medical professionals, Olivas succumbed to her injuries shortly after her arrival. Both Ballard and Olivas were residents of El Paso County, and their sudden passing has left family members and friends grappling with the unexpected loss.
The Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that the driver deemed responsible for the accident displayed signs of intoxication at the time of the incident. Currently receiving medical care for injuries sustained in the crash, the driver’s condition is being monitored closely by law enforcement.
