Family, friends and the general Hardy Volunteer Fire Company continue to mourn the loss of Eric Shell.
Eric passed away suddenly on Tuesday, November 26, 2024. However, his cause of death was not immediately mentioned.

“Stewartsville-Chamblissburg Volunteer Fire Dept expresses our deepest condolences to Hardy Volunteer Fire Company in wake of Eric Shell’s passing. Eric has a long history of serving his community including holding the position of Chief at Hardy. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. Rest in Peace brother,” Stewartsville-Chamblissburg Volunteer Fire Dept said in a Facebook post.
Hardy is an unincorporated community in southwestern Bedford County and northeastern Franklin County, Virginia, United States. The community lies along State Route 634 and is approximately nine miles southeast of Roanoke.
