Andrea J Doering Obituary, Death; – Authorities have publicly named the woman who lost her life in a three-vehicle collision on Thanksgiving Day and have indicated that charges are anticipated against the driver who reportedly struck her vehicle.
Andrea J. Doering, 46, from Portland, was a passenger in the backseat of a car around 6 p.m. in Northeast Portland, accompanied by two others, when another vehicle crossed the center line and collided with them near the intersection of Northeast 13th Avenue and Lombard Street, according to a statement from the Portland Police Bureau. Doering was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other two occupants sustained serious injuries in the incident, police reported.
The identity of the man driving the vehicle that caused the crash has not been disclosed by the police; however, they noted that he is currently hospitalized with severe injuries and that alcohol played a role in the incident. Authorities expect to file charges against him.
Little remains hospitalized but is expected to recover, while his wife’s condition is described as “very serious,” according to Kosmala. “Andrea was a gentle, kind contributor to the Twality community,” Kosmala remarked. “She was always patient and humorous, and we will miss her dearly.”
Doering’s passing marks the 64th traffic fatality in Portland this year, following the deaths of two men in a separate crash on Wednesday. — Tatum Todd is a breaking news reporter focusing on public safety, crime, and community news. Contact them at ttodd@oregonian.com or 503-221-4313.
