Charles Manville,Brandy Manville Obituary, Death; – Authorities in Indiana reported that a man fatally shot his wife and injured his daughter before allegedly taking his own life, as per various news sources. At 7:41 p.m. on November 29, law enforcement was summoned to a residence in Portage due to a domestic disturbance, according to a Facebook update from the Portage Police Department on November 30.
A resident at the location dialed 911, informing dispatch that her father was intoxicated and throwing objects within the home. The caller subsequently indicated that her father was in possession of a firearm. Dispatchers then overheard the man declaring that “everyone was going to die,” followed by the sound of gunfire, as reported by the police. Upon their arrival, officers also heard gunshots emanating from inside the residence. Upon entering, they discovered 45-year-old Charles Manville deceased, with authorities believing he had died by suicide. They also found his wife, 46-year-old Brandy Manville, dead from gunshot wounds.
A third individual, identified by family as Brandy Manville’s 21-year-old daughter, was located alive but with gunshot injuries and was subsequently transported to a hospital, according to officials. A GoFundMe page stated, “Our hearts are broken, and we will forever have a hole in our hearts. Now her daughter has the fight of her life ahead of her.” The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, as stated by the police.
Brandy Manville was employed as a secretary at Portage High School, as reported by WGN. The school principal remarked during a memorial event for Brandy Manville, “Brandy was not just a colleague. She was a mother, a mentor, and a friend to many. Her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering support touched the hearts of everyone who knew her,” according to WLS.
