Nolan Horn, a beloved sophomore at Longwood High School and an inspiring baseball player, passed away at the age of 15 after a courageous battle with cancer. Nolan’s journey was one marked by incredible strength, resilience, and a heartwarming smile that touched everyone he met. Diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer in December of 2022, Nolan’s life was forever altered, but so was the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Throughout his fight, Nolan underwent numerous surgeries, treatments, and clinical trials, all while maintaining his positive attitude and love for life. Despite the pain he endured, Nolan’s spirit never wavered. He was an athlete at heart, known for being everyone’s favorite teammate. Always the one to remind others to have fun, Nolan’s infectious personality left a lasting impact on his friends, family, and teammates alike.
Nolan’s mother, Lauren, father, John, and his brother, Cameron, were by his side every step of the way, offering him unwavering support. The Horn family spent countless hours, and over $100,000 in medical expenses, to ensure that Nolan had access to the best possible care during his battle. Tragically, the cost of his medication added an additional financial burden, amounting to $10,000 each month, an expense that was not covered by insurance.
