Jill Barth Obituary, Death; – Syracuse police have identified the pedestrian who tragically lost her life in a hit-and-run incident on November 24. The victim, Jill Barth, aged 60 and a resident of Clay, was struck by a vehicle around 12:05 a.m. near Shifty’s Bar and Grill, located at 1401 Burnet Avenue. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver involved, John D. Adamy, 48, from Syracuse, was charged on November 26 with leaving the scene of the accident without reporting it, which resulted in death, as per police and jail records. He is currently detained at the Onondaga County Justice Center, with bail set at $400,000 or a cash option of $200,000.
According to her obituary, Barth dedicated over 30 years of service as a clerk at the Taft Road post office. She had previously battled non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and was known for her love of local music, socializing with friends, and outdoor activities such as gardening and hiking. Additionally, she enjoyed rockhounding at the beach.
