Uzziah Shell Obituary, Death; – The 16-year-old boy from New Haven, who was shot on November 22 and succumbed to his injuries later that day, has been identified by authorities as Uzziah Shell.
On that Friday afternoon at approximately 2:35 p.m., law enforcement was alerted to the vicinity of Goffe Street near Hudson Street due to a ShotSpotter activation, along with 911 calls reporting a shooting incident. Upon arrival, officers discovered the boy with gunshot wounds. He was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital, where he ultimately passed away from his injuries, according to police reports.
It was reported that a stray bullet struck a passing school bus containing children; however, police confirmed that “The bus driver acted quickly and stopped several blocks away from the scene; no children on the bus were injured, and members of the Yale Child Study were dispatched to assist with them.”
