Kier Leon Marsh Obituary, Death; – The Newberry County Sheriff’s Office has announced the initiation of an investigation following a shooting incident that resulted in one fatality and one injury at a residential location. At approximately 2:08 a.m., a call was made to Newberry County 911 by an individual who reported being shot during an attempted robbery on Green Meadows Drive.
Upon the arrival of deputies, they discovered a man with a gunshot wound to the lower torso, lying outside the residence. The injured individual informed the deputies that another person was inside the home and may also have sustained injuries. Subsequently, deputies located the second victim deceased in the backyard.
The first victim recounted that several men had entered the residence, opened fire, and then escaped in a dark-colored sedan. Both victims were transported to a nearby trauma center, although their current medical condition remains unknown. Newberry County Coroner Laura Kneece has identified the deceased individual as 31-year-old Kier Leon Marsh from Broadway, NC. An autopsy has been requested and is expected to be conducted soon.
