Authorities have confirmed the identity of a man who tragically lost his life when a Jeep collided with a residence in suburban Lake County on Tuesday evening. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office reported that the incident occurred in unincorporated Lake Villa shortly before 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

The driver, identified as 31-year-old Marcos Corona-Vargas, also suffered serious injuries and was hospitalized. He has since been charged with reckless homicide and driving under the influence in connection with the crash.
