Jamison Jones Roanoke Rapids NC Obituary, Death, Car Accident: It is with deep sorrow and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jamison Carol Jones, 22, on December 31, 2024. Jamison, a beloved daughter, sister, niece, cousin, and friend, left us far too soon, leaving a hole in the hearts of everyone who knew her. Born on February 27, 2002, Jamison was the cherished daughter of Dwayne Jones, formerly of Emporia and now residing in Washington, NC, and Sheryl and Joel Mayle of Pleasant Hill.
On the fateful day of December 31, 2024, Jamison and her unborn daughter, a beautiful baby girl whom she had been eagerly anticipating, slipped peacefully into the arms of God. Their loss is immeasurable, and the pain of her passing is felt deeply by all who loved her. Jamison’s life, though brief, was filled with love, joy, and countless precious moments. Jamison is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Charles Askew and Joyce Carter, and her paternal grandfather, Jerry Mayle.
These three individuals were important pillars in Jamison’s life, and their absence has left a quiet but poignant void in the hearts of her family. However, Jamison’s family takes comfort in the belief that she is now reunited with them, embraced by the love of those who went before her. While Jamison’s time with us was tragically short, her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were privileged to know her. She is survived by her paternal grandparents, Nancy and Joey Turner, paternal grandmother, Jett Mayle, and maternal grandmother, Ellen Askew.
Her family, a close-knit and loving unit, remains strong in their grief and is united in their love and cherished memories of Jamison. Jamison’s siblings, Dalton Mayle and Casey Nichols, Sieanna Mayle, and Kerington Mayle, were important parts of her life, and her love for them was unwavering. As a sister, she was a constant source of joy, and her bond with them will never fade. Jamison’s nephews, Asher and Trent Mayle, brought immense joy to her heart, especially her special connection with Asher, who held a unique place in her world.
Jamison’s loving boyfriend, Riley Pope, also survives her. The two shared a bond built on love, trust, and mutual respect, and Riley will forever carry Jamison in his heart. Alongside her immediate family, Jamison is survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends, all of whom have been touched by her radiant spirit. Each one of them carries the weight of this loss but will also hold onto the beautiful memories they shared with Jamison.
Jamison was known for her vibrant personality, her laughter, and her zest for life. She was someone who could light up any room, and you always knew when Jamison entered. A wildflower in the truest sense, Jamison had a way of standing out with her energy and unfiltered honesty. She never hesitated to speak her mind, and her strong-willed nature often left a lasting impression on those around her. Despite her tough exterior, Jamison possessed a tender side that she only shared with those closest to her. To those fortunate enough to experience it, this gentle and caring nature was one of her most endearing qualities.
One of Jamison’s greatest joys was dancing, a passion she cultivated at Emporia Dance Studio. For years, she devoted herself to the art of dance, expressing herself through movement and music. Jamison’s love of dancing was only outshone by her love of children. She adored kids and had an incredible connection with them, especially her young nephew, Asher, and her cousins Emma and Hudson Carter, Caroline Gil, and any baby she came in contact with. Jamison’s warmth and ability to make others feel loved and valued was unmatched, and she had an unbreakable bond with those closest to her.
One of Jamison’s greatest dreams was to be a mother. She looked forward to welcoming her daughter into the world, and the news of her pregnancy brought immense joy to her life. Although her time as a mother was far too brief, her love for her unborn child was immense, and her bond with her baby girl was already evident. Jamison’s legacy as a loving mother will never be forgotten, and her family will hold on to the memory of the love she had for her baby, even though they were not able to share the moments they had looked forward to together.
In addition to her love for children, Jamison had other passions that brought her joy. She was a lover of music, always eager to dance to her favorite songs or sing along with a tune that spoke to her heart. She was also a fan of the beach and found solace in the sound of the waves and the feel of the sand beneath her feet. Jamison’s love for life, her passions, and her ability to bring joy to others were undeniable. She was an individual who knew how to live fully and how to spread that joy to others.
Jamison’s relationship with her father, Dwayne Jones, was one of the most significant aspects of her life. She was a daddy’s girl, through and through. She cherished the time she spent with her father and loved every moment they shared. Dwayne’s devotion to Jamison was evident, and their bond was unbreakable. He was her protector, her confidante, and her greatest supporter, and Jamison always knew she could count on him. In the sorrow of her passing, Dwayne takes solace in knowing that his daughter is now in the arms of God, but the love they shared will never be extinguished.
Jamison’s faith was an important part of her life. She was saved at a young age and had a deep connection to her relationship with God. Her faith brought her peace and comfort, and her family finds solace in knowing that she is now resting in the arms of her Savior. While her passing has left a deep void in the lives of all who knew her, there is peace in the knowledge that Jamison is now in a better place, free from pain and suffering.
Jamison’s family invites all those who loved her to join them in a Celebration of Life, where they will come together to honor her memory and the joy she brought to their lives. The Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Zion Baptist Church, located at 974 Zion Church Road, Emporia, VA. Rev. Jim Cox and Rev. Larry Grizzard will officiate the service, and all are welcome to join in paying tribute to Jamison’s life.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Bethel Baptist Church, located at 1010 Bethel Church Road, Pleasant Hill, NC, 27866, or to The Family Violence and Sexual Assault Unit, located at 202 Hicksford Avenue, Emporia, VA 23847. These contributions will help support causes that were important to Jamison and her family. While Jamison’s time with us was tragically short, the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the memories she created will live on forever.
She will be remembered for her wild, passionate spirit, her deep love for her family and friends, her unbreakable bond with her nephew, Asher, and her unfulfilled dreams of motherhood. Her legacy is one of love, joy, and the strength to live life on her own terms. Jamison Carol Jones, you will always be loved, and you will never be forgotten. Your beautiful soul, your laughter, and your love will forever remain in our hearts. Until we meet again, we hold on to the memories and the love you shared with all of us. May you and your baby girl rest in eternal peace.
