Matthew Livelsberger Obituary, Death; – A man who perished in a Tesla Cybertruck loaded with explosives, resulting in injuries to seven individuals outside a Trump hotel, has been identified as an active-duty soldier in the United States Army, according to official sources. As reported by the Associated Press, law enforcement has named the individual as Matthew Livelsberger.
The explosion occurred on Wednesday outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department informed KVVU that various agencies are probing a potential link between this incident and a terror attack in New Orleans that claimed 15 lives.
Livelsberger had been stationed at Fort Bragg, a significant Army installation in North Carolina that hosts the Army Special Forces Command, as noted by the Associated Press. Shamsud-Din Bahar Jabbar, who drove into a crowd in New Orleans on New Year’s Day, resulting in at least 15 fatalities before being shot by police, also had a history at Fort Bragg.
According to police reports, the explosion took place in the valet area of the hotel at approximately 8:40 a.m. after the Cybertruck arrived. Inside the vehicle, authorities discovered several fireworks and gas canisters, which fortunately did not detonate.
UMC Hospital reported that they treated two of the seven individuals injured in the explosion, both of whom have since been discharged. During a press briefing, LVMPD Sheriff Kevin McMahill confirmed that the suspect was inside the vehicle and died as a result of the explosion. He also mentioned that investigators are searching for any secondary devices and are proceeding cautiously in their efforts.
Guests at the hotel and nearby accommodations reported hearing a loud explosion that was significantly more intense than typical fireworks. Footage captured massive clouds of smoke emanating from the hotel entrance. Oscar Terol, a visitor from Spain, recounted being in the lobby at the time of the explosion.
