Steve Iglesia Arrested; – A man was fatally shot outside the Casa Blanca restaurant in south Fort Myers on Wednesday evening.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies were dispatched to the restaurant’s parking lot at 8 p.m. in response to a shooting incident. Upon their arrival, they discovered a deceased man with multiple gunshot wounds. The suspect, identified as 25-year-old Steve Iglesia, was promptly apprehended.
Investigations revealed that Iglesia was dining with family when a dispute arose. The argument escalated into a physical confrontation that moved outside the establishment.
According to the LCSO, it was during this altercation that Iglesia discharged his weapon, resulting in the victim’s death. Iglesia faces charges of second-degree murder and domestic violence battery. The sheriff’s office confirmed that Iglesia is currently held at the Lee County Jail, awaiting his initial court appearance.
