Alex Russell Obituary, Death;- Authorities have now identified the man who was killed following a confrontation with police officers on December 19. According to Gahanna Police, 23-year-old Alex Russell was armed during the incident and had used a fraudulent credit card at a hotel before exiting through a rear window.
During the encounter, police reported that Russell aimed the firearm at his own head and subsequently directed it toward the officers, prompting them to discharge their weapons. He succumbed to his injuries at a nearby hospital shortly thereafter.
As a result of this incident, four Gahanna police officers are currently on administrative leave. Their identities have not been disclosed, and it has been confirmed that none sustained injuries. The Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) is conducting an inquiry into the matter.
