A 14-year-old boy has tragically died after being stabbed on a bus in Woolwich, southeast London. The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon, January 7, 2025, prompting a large-scale police response as authorities launched a manhunt for the attacker.
Emergency services were called to Route 472 on Woolwich Church Road, near the junction with the A205 South Circular Road, at approximately 2:28 pm following reports of a stabbing. Paramedics attended to the teenage boy, who had suffered critical stab wounds, but despite their best efforts, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after their arrival.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police, along with the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance, rushed to the scene. The area has since been cordoned off, and road closures remain in effect as investigators work to piece together the circumstances surrounding the attack.
