A woman from Geneva County has tragically lost her life following a house fire that occurred on Saturday afternoon in Hartford.
According to Geneva County Coroner Donny Atkinson, 77-year-old Barbara Carmichael of Hartford perished in the blaze at her residence on Rose Avenue. Atkinson further stated that Carmichael’s remains will be sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery for an autopsy. The incident is currently being investigated by the Alabama Fire Marshal.
