Early Monday morning in Texas City, a horrible occurrence claimed the lives of a man and his adolescent son. The Texas City Police Department responded at the scene of the incident between 3rd Street North on 10th Avenue North at approximately 1:20 a.m.
The victims have been identified as Joshua Gonzales, 17, and his father, Jay Gonzales, 41. Investigators believe Joshua was shot and killed, and his father may have passed away due to a medical episode, although an autopsy is still being conducted to ascertain the cause. The Galveston County Medical Examiner’s Office is in charge of the identification and inquiry.
Investigators are questioning the individual believed to have been involved in the shooting, but no charges have been filed at this time. Texas City Police have assured the public that there is no ongoing threat related to the incident.
