The Kentucky State Police (KSP) Pikeville Post is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Saturday, January 11, 2025, in the Steele community of Pike County. The victim, Christopher Lester, 42, was discovered shot dead at a residence on Laurel Fork Road. The authorities have arrested two individuals, Anthony Browning and Michael Brown. A convicted felon accuses them both of murder and weapons possession.
KSP officers were called to a home on Laurel Fork Road in the Steele hamlet, in the northeastern region of Pike County, Kentucky, at around 8:00 p.m. on January 11. When police arrived, they found Christopher Lester lying unconscious and wounded from gunshot wounds. The Pike County Coroner’s Office declared Lester deceased after emergency medical personnel arrived on the site.
Lester’s body has been transferred to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy, thus the cause of death has not yet been established. The autopsy’s findings will shed more light on the precise cause of death. But according to the preliminary inquiry, the gunfire was the cause of death.
Authorities are working to hold those responsible for Christopher Lester’s death accountable as they continue their investigation into the shooting death. For Lester’s family and the Pike County community, the arrests of Michael Brown and Anthony Browning represent a critical step in the pursuit of justice.
The case also demonstrates Kentucky State Police’s ongoing efforts to protect the state’s residents and fight violent crime. With the full collaboration of local law enforcement and community people, KSP hopes to provide answers to those affected by this tragic event and throw light on the case.
Even while the investigation goes on, officials are hopeful that the legal system will bring Christopher Lester justice and, in the end, offer peace to those impacted by his untimely death.
