It is with deep sorrow and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Paul Bowler, a beloved son, brother, and friend, who tragically lost his life in a rollover accident in Somers, Connecticut, on January 14, 2025, at the age of 42. Paul’s untimely death has left an immense void in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who knew him. He was a man known for his kind nature, his sense of humor, and his unwavering loyalty to those he loved.
Paul was born on November 2, 1982, in Stafford Springs, Connecticut, to Thomas and Susan Bowler. He grew up in Stafford Springs, where he developed lifelong friendships and became an integral part of his community. Paul attended Stafford High School, where he was known for his athletic ability, his friendly disposition, and his involvement in extracurricular activities. His classmates remember him as someone who could always make them laugh, and he was well-liked for his genuine nature and kindness.
After graduating from high school, Paul worked in various trades and became known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his craft. He was a skilled mechanic and enjoyed fixing cars and working with his hands. Those who knew him in the workplace admired his problem-solving skills and his willingness to help others. Paul took great pride in his work and always gave his best, no matter the task at hand.
Outside of work, Paul had a passion for cars, motorcycles, and the outdoors. He was an avid motor enthusiast, spending much of his free time working on vehicles, attending car shows, or going on weekend rides with friends. He also enjoyed hiking, fishing, and camping, and loved to spend time in nature, appreciating the beauty of the Connecticut countryside. Whether he was with his family, friends, or out on his own, Paul found peace and joy in the simple pleasures of life.
Family was everything to Paul. He was a devoted son to Thomas and Susan, who supported him throughout his life and shared in his many accomplishments. He was also a loving brother to his sister, Amanda, and his brother, Brian. Paul’s family meant the world to him, and he cherished the time he spent with them. He had a close-knit relationship with his extended family, often gathering for holiday celebrations, birthdays, and other special occasions. Paul’s generous spirit, his sense of humor, and his deep love for his family will be remembered and cherished by those who were closest to him.
Paul is survived by his parents, Thomas and Susan Bowler; his siblings, Amanda Bowler and Brian Bowler; his maternal grandmother, Helen Anderson; his aunts, uncles, cousins, and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James and Mary Bowler, and his maternal grandfather, Richard Anderson.
A memorial service to celebrate Paul’s life will be held on January 19, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Stafford Springs Congregational Church. Friends and family are invited to attend, share memories, and reflect on the impact that Paul had on their lives. A reception will follow at the church hall. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Connecticut Brain Injury Alliance, a cause that Paul cared deeply about.
Paul Bowler’s passing has left a deep and painful loss for all who knew him. He was a kind, compassionate man whose life was full of promise, and his absence will be felt by so many.
