Marquise Scott Death – Late Saturday night, Tuscaloosa police responded to a fatal shooting at Creekwood Village Apartments, located at 1750 40th Avenue. Officers were dispatched at approximately 11:10 p.m. on January 18, 2025, after reports of gunfire.
Upon arrival, they discovered 22-year-old Marquise Scott dead inside an apartment. Scott had suffered multiple gunshot wounds, and emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene.
Following an immediate investigation, police identified 25-year-old LaGabriel Jones as the suspect in the shooting. Witnesses provided critical information, and Jones was brought in for questioning.
After speaking with investigators, Jones was formally charged with murder. He was taken into custody and is being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail without bond.
