Hunter Conner; Obituary, Death: With broken hearts, we share the tragic and untimely passing of our sweet baby brother, Hunter Scott Conner, 22, of Newburgh, Indiana. Hunter’s life was tragically cut short in an accident on January 18, 2025. He was born on December 5, 2002, in Newburgh, to his loving parents, Norman Scott Conner and Kimberly J. Croft. Hunter leaves behind a family that is heartbroken and forever changed, as well as a community that mourns the loss of a kind and hardworking young man.
Hunter had a special way of making everyone feel welcome and loved, from family members to friends, and even to the people he encountered in his everyday life. He had an infectious smile that lit up a room and a heart so full of kindness, generosity, and love. Hunter’s energy and enthusiasm for life were unmatched, and he lived every day with a passion that was contagious to those around him.
Hunter took immense pride in his work and his accomplishments. He was the proud owner and operator of Conner Lawn Care, a business he started from the ground up. His dedication to his work was evident in the care and attention to detail he put into every lawn he maintained. His clients appreciated his hard work, reliability, and the friendly demeanor he brought with him wherever he went. He enjoyed working outdoors and was known for his strong work ethic, always going the extra mile to get the job done.
Hunter was a young man who had big dreams and aspirations, and he was well on his way to achieving great things in life. In addition to his business, Hunter worked at Walmart Automotive in Newburgh, where he was a dependable and valuable employee. He took pride in his work there as well, always striving to provide excellent service to his customers and coworkers. His strong sense of responsibility and drive were clear in everything he did.
But beyond his work ethic, Hunter was known for his genuine and friendly nature. He was the type of person who would go out of his way to help anyone in need and always had a positive attitude, even in the toughest of situations. Family was everything to Hunter. He was deeply loved by his parents, Norman and Kimberly, and shared an unbreakable bond with his siblings. Hunter’s older brother, Kyle, was his best friend and confidant.
They were inseparable, spending hours together, whether they were working on projects, sharing laughs, or simply enjoying each other’s company. Kyle will forever carry Hunter’s memory with him and will always feel the loss of his baby brother by his side. Hunter’s sister, Madison, also shared a close relationship with him. She and Hunter had a special connection, and the love and support they shared will never be forgotten. He was the protective big brother to his younger sister, Kenzie, and his siblings will miss him more than words can express.
To his extended family and friends, Hunter was known as a loyal and caring soul who was always there when you needed him. Whether you needed a friend to lean on, a helping hand with a task, or someone to share a joke with, Hunter was there with his big heart and open arms. He had an uncanny ability to make everyone feel important and valued. He brought joy, laughter, and love to every moment he was a part of.
Hunter was also deeply loved by his many friends, who will forever cherish the memories they made together. Whether it was going for late-night drives, watching sports, or just hanging out, Hunter’s friends knew him as a loving and dependable person. His friendship was something to be treasured, and those who had the privilege of knowing him will carry his memory with them always.
Hunter’s passing has left a hole in our hearts that can never be filled, and we are struggling to find a life without him. We know that Hunter would want us to carry on his spirit—his love for life, his love for his family, and his joy in helping others. We ask that everyone keeps our family in their thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time, especially as we prepare for his services. We are forever grateful for the support and love we’ve received, but we can’t help but feel that we would give anything in the world to bring Hunter back into our lives.
A memorial service will be held to honor Hunter’s life on Wednesday, January 24, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Newburgh Baptist Church, located at 123 Main Street, Newburgh. A public visitation will precede the service from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, allowing friends and family to come together to remember and celebrate the life of a truly remarkable young man. Burial will follow at the Newburgh Cemetery, where Hunter will be laid to rest with love and respect.
In lieu of flowers, the family has established a memorial fund to assist with funeral expenses and support the continuation of Hunter’s business, Conner Lawn Care, in his honor. Donations can be made through the family’s GoFundMe page: . We are also accepting donations for a scholarship in Hunter’s name that will be awarded to a local student pursuing their dreams in business and entrepreneurship—just as Hunter did.
The loss of Hunter Scott Conner is a pain no words can fully capture, but we will continue to honor his memory by living our lives in a way that reflects the love, kindness, and joy he brought into this world. He may no longer be with us in person, but his spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
