Juan Arizmendi,Phillip Hylton Obituary, Death; – The Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office has disclosed the identities of two individuals who tragically lost their lives in a farming incident on Thursday.
The deceased have been named as 24-year-old Juan Arizmendi and 67-year-old Phillip Hylton, both residents of Dry Fork. Their remains have been sent to the Medical Examiner’s Office for an assessment to ascertain the cause and manner of death, as stated by the Sheriff’s Office.
At approximately 4 p.m. on January 23, 2025, deputies responded to a report of a structure fire in the 5000 Block of Dry Fork Road within the Dry Fork community. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the two men unresponsive, and both were declared dead at the scene.
Sheriff Mike Taylor indicated that preliminary evidence from the investigation suggests that agricultural machinery operated by the victims inadvertently came into contact with high voltage power lines, leading the Sheriff’s Office to conclude that the men likely suffered electrocution.
