Kelly Lynn Caldwell Obituary, Death; – A 23-year-old woman from Vernon lost her life on Thursday night after entering Route 15 in the wrong direction and colliding with another vehicle, as reported by Connecticut State Police. The deceased has been identified as Kelly Lynn Caldwell.
The other driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital, according to state police. No additional passengers were reported in either vehicle in the crash summary provided by the agency. The incident occurred shortly before 11:15 p.m. in the northbound lanes of the highway, just south of Exit 90.
According to state police, Caldwell was driving her 2011 Honda Civic LX the wrong way for an “unknown reason” when she collided head-on with a 2020 Infiniti QX50 SUV. Following the collision, Caldwell’s Honda came to a stop in the right lane, while the Infiniti was positioned in the left-center and right-center lanes, as stated by state police.
Caldwell suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to Hartford Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. The other driver, a woman from East Hartford, was also taken to Hartford Hospital with minor injuries, as indicated in the crash summary.
