MaryBeth Brink; Obituary, Death: It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of MaryBeth Brink, age 63, of Farmington, Pennsylvania, on January 20, 2025. MaryBeth peacefully passed away surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with illness. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her loved ones. MaryBeth was born on August 15, 1961, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Brink.
She spent the majority of her life in the close-knit community of Farmington, where she became known for her warm heart, selfless nature, and dedication to helping others. MaryBeth had a gentle spirit and a deep love for her family, friends, and the community she called home. Growing up in Farmington, MaryBeth was a bright and kind student who graduated from Uniontown High School in 1979.
She went on to pursue a career in education, becoming a beloved teacher at Farmington Elementary School. For over 30 years, she nurtured the minds of young children, fostering their love for learning and inspiring them to achieve their full potential. MaryBeth was known for her creative lesson plans, her ability to connect with students, and her unwavering commitment to their success.
Beyond her career, MaryBeth was deeply involved in local volunteer efforts. Whether it was organizing charity events, supporting local causes, or simply lending a hand to neighbors in need, she always made time to give back to the community. Her efforts made a significant impact on the lives of many, and her legacy will continue to inspire others to serve with kindness and compassion.
MaryBeth had a deep love for nature and often found peace in the beautiful surroundings of Farmington. She enjoyed long walks in the woods, taking in the fresh air, and appreciating the simple joys of life. Her love of nature extended to gardening, and her yard was always full of vibrant flowers, plants, and trees that brought her much joy. She often shared her gardening expertise with friends and family, offering tips and advice on how to cultivate beautiful spaces.
MaryBeth was also a devoted daughter, sister, and aunt. She cherished the time spent with her family, and her home was always open to those she loved. She was a caring and loving mother to her two children, Sarah and Ben. She dedicated herself to being a constant source of support, love, and guidance throughout their lives. Her children were her pride and joy, and she instilled in them the values of hard work, kindness, and perseverance.
MaryBeth’s love for her family extended to her siblings and extended relatives. She was a cherished sister to her brother, Michael, and her sister, Diane, with whom she shared a special bond. She was a beloved aunt to several nieces and nephews, all of whom will carry fond memories of their time spent with her. Her generosity, compassion, and sense of humor were qualities that endeared her to all who were lucky enough to know her.
In addition to her family and community involvement, MaryBeth was a faithful member of the Farmington United Methodist Church. She was a dedicated volunteer, and her church family was an important part of her life. She found great comfort in her faith and was an active participant in various church events and outreach programs.
MaryBeth was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elizabeth Brink, and her beloved husband, Thomas Brink, who passed away in 2019. She is survived by her children, Sarah Brink and Ben Brink; her siblings, Michael Brink and Diane Harris; her nieces and nephews; and a host of friends and extended family members who will miss her deeply.
A public visitation will be held at the Farmington Funeral Home on Friday, January 25, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Farmington United Methodist Church, with Reverend David Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at the Farmington Cemetery. All are welcome to attend and celebrate MaryBeth’s life.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the MaryBeth Brink Memorial Fund, which has been established to support educational programs and community outreach in her honor. The fund will provide scholarships for local students pursuing higher education, as well as funding for local volunteer organizations that MaryBeth was passionate about.
