Veteran LAPD Officer Paul Jordan, who was just a few years away from retirement, has tragically passed away.
Jordan died during a car chase while on his way home from work, according to reports. In addition to his lengthy career with the LAPD, Jordan also worked at Disney.
As a Senior Lead Officer at the LAPD Hollywood Station, Jordan was widely respected and admired for his dedication, commitment, and long-standing service to the people of Los Angeles.
“Officer Jordan dedicated his life to serving and protecting our community with commitment and compassion. His presence will be deeply missed by his colleagues, friends, and the countless lives he touched,” the LAPD Wilshire Station shared in a tribute.
Doug MacLeay, a close friend and former Disney colleague, also expressed heartfelt words in Jordan’s memory.
“We use the term hero loosely at times, but Paul was truly a hero to me. He spent his career protecting the citizens of Los Angeles. Paul was a big man—not just in physical presence, but in how he carried himself,” MacLeay wrote.
Jordan is survived by his wife, son, and daughter.
The LAPD is also mourning the loss of another officer, Sergeant Felicia Robinson of the 77th Street Division. Funeral arrangements for both officers have yet to be announced.
