Tyrone was born on April 12, 1962, in Akron, Ohio, the beloved son of the late Samuel and Shirley Hornbuckle. His passing has left an indelible mark on those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Tyrone was a man whose life was defined by his deep devotion to his family, his warm spirit, and his unwavering commitment to his community. He was a loving father, a loyal brother, and a steadfast friend. Whether he was sharing a hearty laugh, lending a helping hand, or offering words of wisdom, Tyrone was always there for those who needed him.
Tyrone spent the majority of his life in Garrettsville, where he became an integral part of the community. He worked tirelessly for years as a machinist, earning the respect and admiration of his coworkers and supervisors. His dedication to his craft was matched only by his passion for volunteering. He was a committed member of the Garrettsville community, frequently volunteering with local charitable organizations, and dedicating time to support local youth sports teams.
Tyrone’s sense of duty extended far beyond his profession; he believed in giving back and was always ready to help those in need. Above all, Tyrone cherished the time spent with his family. He was a devoted father to his children, Jayla Hornbuckle and Tyrese Hornbuckle, both of Garrettsville. He shared a special bond with his siblings, including his brother, Lamar Hornbuckle, and his sister, Denise Hornbuckle, as well as his many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Tyrone’s love for his family was evident in everything he did, and he was a constant source of support, guidance, and love. Those who knew Tyrone will remember him for his infectious sense of humor, his generous heart, and his capacity to make everyone around him feel welcome. He had a gift for bringing people together, and his warm presence was a beacon of light for those who sought comfort.

A visitation will be held at the Garrettsville Community Funeral Home on Friday, January 26, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, where friends and family are invited to gather and celebrate Tyrone’s life. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. James Church, followed by a procession to the Garrettsville Cemetery for interment.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Tyrone’s memory to the Garrettsville Youth Sports League or to St. James Church. These organizations were close to Tyrone’s heart, and he would be honored by any contribution made in his name.
Tyrone Hornbuckle’s life was one of purpose, love, and dedication. He will forever be remembered as a man who touched the lives of everyone around him with his kindness, humor, and generous spirit.
