Stefan Monteiro of Tewksbury Massachusetts, has passed away unexpectedly, he was said to have died in a motor vehicle accident. The crash reportedly occurred early Monday morning when his vehicle crashed into an Interstate 495 rest area and collided with the rear of a tractor-trailer.
The accident occurred shortly before 3 a.m., when the driver and only occupant of a Toyota RAV4 was traveling northbound on I-495 in Haverhill “at a high rate of speed,” entered the rest area, and collided with the back of a tractor trailer, according to Michael Keefe-Feldman, chief of communications for Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker.
The Massachusetts State Police and the Massachusetts Office of the Chief Medical Examiner are investigating the collision.
