Matthew A Barber Obituary, Death; – The New York State Police have confirmed the identification of human remains discovered near the Chemung River on Wednesday. Authorities have identified the remains as belonging to Matthew A. Barber, a resident of Elmira.
On September 24, 2024, troopers responded to notifications from two kayakers who reported the discovery of human remains near the Chemung River; they also located additional partial remains in a nearby wooded area.
The investigation by State Police is still in progress.
